An ACTOR? What’s behind that?

“Ugh, Your voice carries!” my mother used to say, so she enrolled me in Sears Charm School, I am not kidding. At 13, I bombed at the Miss Teenage Sears contest in Chicago. Later we tried singing lessons, a vast improvement.

Comedy took precedence after music. “At home with 3 big brothers, making each other laugh was how we earned respect.” Drama got a foothold later that year when my parents divorced, and theatre became living. I never looked back.
